Ashlyn just turned four which means she officially joins the main preaching service for Sunday evenings. She absolutely loves it, as you can tell. The above picture is her at the end of my message that first night.

Over the past few months we have been working at cultivating a nucleus of spanish folks through which to start a spanish worship service . We have began by starting a spanish adult class a few months ago and then last week we officially held our first spanish service. Praise the Lord!
The special music was wonderful, the preaching was great (at least I am assuming since I don’t technically understand spanish myself yet), and the spirit was dynamic. Pray that the Lord would give us the wisdom on how to proceed in ministering to the spanish speaking folks in the Fresno area in the months ahead.

A few weeks ago I invited the city councilwomen for our district to come and attend church with us. She was so kind to oblige this past week and it was a wonderful priviledge to have her as our guest.
It is our prayer that the Lord will continue to open many doors of opportunity to us here in Fresno as week seek to minister to those all around us.

Recently I had the opportunity to preach for Brother Jacques Van Rooyen at his yearly spring advance up at Lake Tahoe. It was absolutely beautiful up there and it is always such a privilege to preach to his students.
I am excited for Brother Van Rooyen and he prepares to launch into deputation this fall and gets ready to move his family to China. We are looking forward to having him and his family at our Mission’s Conference with Dr. Don Sisk this coming October.
Below is a picture of Lake Tahoe taken from the iPhone.

We recently took Ashlyn to get her first professional haircut. She thought she was a princess. She did very well, and didn’t complain a bit. We saved some of the hair for memories sake. Thank the Lord for children, they are such a blessing.

I can’t get over how incredible our God is, I have been meditating on Ephesians 3:20 all day today; Now unto Him that able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us.”
This verse perfectly describes our Easter services here at Ambassador Baptist. Over the last three weeks our church family has been passionate about getting out the word about our special Easter services. Nearly seventy-five people a week gathered for the sole purpose of inviting our community out to our special Easter services. By God’s grace we were able to get to ten thousand homes and personally invite folks to visit with us.
Yesterday, God showered us with incredible blessings. We were so packed several folks had to sit in the lobby and a some of them couldn’t even see the preaching, So they just sat there and listened. We were privileged to see seven adults saved, over fifty first time guests just in the main service and a total of two-hundred and forty nine individuals come onto our campus and hear the gospel plan of Salvation. What a blessing, Praise the Lord!
This year we had the opportunity to put together our very first video as a church. Special thanks to Daniel Diaz a member of our church since May of 2008 for producing the film, and Larry Chappell for animating the logo.

Last Wednesday I was privileged to be invited to speak at the Heritage Baptist Church by Pastor Allen Fong. They have designated some of their midweek services and have had Pastor’s from the West Coast come and speak on Leadership topics. It was an honor to be invited to preach to this wonderful congregation.
Tom Boonstra, one of the men on our staff, and I had the opportunity to make the trip together. The church put us up at the beautiful Marina Inn right on the bay. That next morning Tom encouraged me to join him on a bike ride by the bay for a little morning exercise. I was a little apprehensive at first, I told him I had too much to get done, but finally I gave in. It was great. I hadn’t ridden a bike in years. It was good exercise, a beautiful morning and I would probably do it again.

Last week-end our church had the privilege of having Pastor Tim Ruhl come and preach to us. I have been challenged by Brother Ruhl’s preaching for nearly a decade. Everytime he opens the Word of God and preaches the Lord convicts my heart by his Spirit. This time was no exception. Oh, how the Lord touched our hearts. Thank you Pastor Ruhl for taking time to come and be with us. It truly was a blessing and priviledge.
