Open House Sunday 2009

DSCN0993

Every year we take the opportunity to invite our entire community to church for our Open House Sunday. It is always neat to meet new folks and introduce them to the ministry here at Ambassador. What a blessing it was to welcome nearly three-hundred folks to church and see many accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour!

It’s A Boy: Landon

1018090908

Last Sunday morning my wife gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Weighing in at seven pounds eleven ounces and twenty one inches. It made for a busy day as I rushed from the hospital to preach our Open House service at church and then back to the hospital. We pray that Landon Joshua Irmler will accept Christ at a young age and the Lord will use his life to make an impact for God with his life.

Auditorium Expansion Project

063

Two weeks ago we began our auditorium expansion project. We are excited about how quickly the Lord has allowed us to move through the project. I am so thankful to the many, many folks who have volunteered their time and resources to make this project a reality. We are looking forward to having extra seats in which to put all the people that the Lord is entrusting to our care. Please pray that the Lord will allow us to finish this project in a timely manner.

Discipleship Class

P1000431

II Timothy 2:2 we are reminded that it is our responsability as Christians to “teach others also.” We are excited about what God is doing here at the Ambassador Baptist Church in the lives of individuals. One area that we are thrilled about is our weekly discipleship program. Each month we have folks that have accepted Christ as thier Saviour who commit to go through an extensive one-on-one Bible study program. The folks pictured above recently finished the entire course and are continueing to grow in there new-found faith.

A Note from a First Time Guest to Ambassador!

IMG_5804

Pastor Irmler,

I REALLY enjoyed the church services this past Sunday morning. Thank you for the Word. I had been struggling with wanting to totally give my life to Christ for sometime now. My daughter and I are new to the central Fresno area and needed and wanted to find a church home. It was such a blessing when that knock came at the door and it was an invitation to worship with you all. It really brings tears to my eyes because I know this is where I am supposed to be. And adding that the message and the warmth we received from the members, it was just what I have been looking for! I need a lot of help on this because I’m new to the Bible. I look forward to attending church every Sunday and doing my part. If I could describe the services in one word it would be AWESOME! I told my neighbors, and some family members about our experience. My next question is; Could you maybe give me some scriptures to read so I can learn more about what the next step is? Thanks again for taking the time to Email me!

Joshua Irmler: What a blessing it is to be a part of a church that truly desires to Enrich Lives through Christ. There is nothing I would rather do than be a small part in making a spiritual difference in the lives of others. Praise the Lord for the ten folks that accepted Christ this past Sunday and the two that were baptized.

Family Camp

One nice thing about Fresno, California is that you are so centrally located to so many wonderful places. You are only a couple hours from the ocean, Yosemite, Sequoia’s, Southern California, the Bay Area and host of many other wonderful area’s. This past week-end a bunch of families from Ambassador got together and enjoyed some of God’s beautiful creation up in the sierra nevada’s.

As we were “exploring” we came across this view and I just had to take a picture – It’s at Lake Wishon. With me is one of the dear, godly men of our church Red Kellerhalls. What a blessing and encouragement the families of the Ambassador Baptist Church are to my heart. I thank the Lord for each and every one of them on a regular basis!

Sword Conference 2009

DSCN0519

Last week a few of us from on the staff made the trip out to Walkertown, North Carolina for the National Sword of the Lord Conference hosted by the Gospel Light Baptist Church. It was a terrific experience. I enjoyed the preaching, sessions, and great folks we were able to meet while out there. When we arrived we new virtually no one. It was neat to meet so many new folks and make a lot of great new friends. Everyone was so kind.

Above you can see the display we set up for the FundamentalNetwork – a ministry of Ambassador Baptist Church. There was actually a giant screen on the left hand side that had video’s and a slide show, however, it can barely be seen in the picture. Overall it was a great experience and we are looking forward to the opportunity to going again and representing FN again.

Last week we recognized some of the families that have joined Ambassador Baptist Church in the last few months. It was joy to see so nearly fifty folks that have joined recently excited about what the Lord is doing at Ambassador. I am so thankful for a wonderful church family that is passionate about reaching lost souls with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
